The 4070-3 is a 3m DB9 female to DB9 female RS2323 Null Modem Cable, 28AWG tinned and standard copper wire cable with 9-way D subminiature socket to 9-way D subminiature socket connection, beige jacket. The RS2323 serial file transfer cable features either the traditional 25 D-type RS232 connector or the now more commonly fitted 9 D-type serial connector. As the serial port on most PCs is a plug or male the most common interface cable tends to be a socket to socket (female to female).
