L7824CV is a L78 series positive voltage regulator IC. This regulator can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single-point regulation. Each type embeds internal current limiting, thermal shut-down, and safe area protection, making it essentially indestructible. If adequate heat sinking is provided, they can deliver over 1A output current. Although designed primarily as a fixed voltage regulator, this device can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltage and currents.
- Thermal overload protection, short circuit protection
- Output transition SOA protection
- Output voltage is 24V typ at TJ = 25°C
- Quiescent current is 8mA max at TJ = 25°C
- Output voltage drift is -1.5mV/°C typ at IO = 5mA
- Output noise voltage is 170µV/VO typ at B = 10Hz to 100kHz, TJ = 25°C
- Supply voltage rejection is 50dB min at VI = 28 to 38V, f = 120Hz
- Output resistance is 28mohm typ at f = 1kHz
- TO-220 (single gauge) package
- Operating junction temperature range from 0 to 125°C
