MIKROE-6557 is a NB IoT 7 Click compact add-on board designed for low-power wide-area cellular connectivity for IoT and M2M applications. It is based on SIM7022, a multi-band NB-IoT module from SIMCom, a module developed for narrowband communication in challenging radio environments. It supports wide range of LTE-FDD frequency bands, enabling global network compatibility, offers uplink data rates of up to 159Kbps and downlink speeds of up to 127Kbps with TX power of +23dBm. With support for Power Save Mode (PSM) and Extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX), it enables ultra-low power operation suitable for battery-powered devices with lifetimes of up to 10 years. UART-based communication, USB connectivity for configuration and firmware upgrades, hardware flow control, and SIM card compatibility further enhance flexibility and ease of integration. It is well suited for smart metering, asset tracking, remote monitoring, e-health systems, and large-scale distributed IoT sensor networks.
