The dsPIC30F device contain extensive Digital Signal Processor (DSP) functionality within a high-performance 16-bit microcontroller (MCU) architecture. It features high-performance modified RISC CPU (modified Harvard Architecture, C compiler optimized instruction set architecture), DSP engine (modulo and bit-reversed modes, dual data fetch), motor control PWM module (four duty cycle generators, dedicated time base with four modes, programmable output polarity), Quadrature Encoder Interface Module (Phase A, Phase B and Index Pulse input, Programmable digital noise filters on inputs), special digital signal controller (enhanced flash program memory, Data EEPROM memory, POR, PWRT, OST, WDT, Programmable code protection), CMOS technology (low-power, high-speed flash technology, wide operating voltage range (2.5V to 5.5V) and low power consumption).
