HCPL-316J-500E is a 2.5A gate drive optocoupler with integrated desaturation (VCE) detection and fault status feedback that makes IGBT VCE fault protection compact, affordable, and easy-to-implement while satisfying worldwide safety and regulatory requirements.

• Drive IGBTs up to Ic=150A, Vce=1200V
• Optically isolated, active low FAULT status feedback
• CMOS/TTL compatible and 500ns maximum switching speeds
• Soft' IGBT turn-off
• Integrated fail-safe IGBT protection: Desat (VCE) detection, under voltage lock-out protection
• User configurable: inverting, non-inverting, auto-shutdown
• Wide operating Vcc range from 15 to 30V
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +100°C
• 15kV/µs minimum common mode rejection (CMR) at Vcm=1500V
• Available in SO-16 package
