The 8-188275-6 is a 16-way 1-row Female-on-board Connector with vertical PCB mounting orientation, surface mount device, low profile, tin plating over nickel solder tail, tin plating over nickel phosphor bronze contact. This SMD connector version is designed for standard reflow and infrared solder processes (FULL SMD). Polarization is accomplished by the housing, there for no polarization holes in the PC board are required. The contact is designed with an additional spring to compensate for differences in thermal expansion between housing and PCB. Due to this feature, tension on solder joints is prevented.
