MS249

The MS249 is a 60/40 grade Extrusol Solder Bar, made of Sn and Pb solder alloy. It is made up of high toxicity, irritant to nasal passages, carcinogenic and possible systemic effects cadmium. This cadmium joint formulation will be noticeably affected at levels of 0.002% and there will be a high incidence of bridging and icicling, together with a deterioration in joint strength at 0.005%. High toxicity, possible systemic and long term effects from copper and generally, at levels of 0.25% copper or even less, joint formulation will deteriorate.
