VEML6030

VEML6030 is a high accuracy ambient light digital 16-bit resolution sensor. It includes a high sensitive photodiode, a low noise amplifier, a 16-bit A/D converter and supports an easy to use I²C bus communication interface and additional interrupt feature. It is used in ambient light sensor for mobile devices (e.g. smartphones, touch phones, PDA, GPS) for backlight dimming, ambient light sensor for industrial on- / off-lighting operation, optical switch for consumer, computing, and industrial devices and displays applications.

• Supply voltage range from 2.5V to 3.6V, high dynamic detection resolution
• Communication via I²C interface, low stand by current consumption is 0.5μA typ
• I²C bus H-level range from 1.7V to 3.6V, floor life is 72h
• Shut down current is 0.5μA typical at (VDD is 3.3V, Tamb = 25°C)
• I²C clock rate range from 10KHz to 400KHz, software shutdown mode control
• Digital resolution (LSB count) is 0.0036lx/step typical at (Tamb = 25°C)
• Operation mode current is 2μA typical at (VDD is 3.3V, PSM = 11, refresh time 4100ms)
• Operating temperature range from -25°C to +85°C
