MAX231CPD+

MAX231CPD+ is a +5V-powered, multi-channel RS-232 driver/receiver. It is intended for all EIA/TIA-232E and V.28/V.24 communications interfaces, particularly applications. It uses no external components and is recommended for applications where printed circuit board space is critical. Applications include interface translation, multidrop RS-232 networks, portable diagnostics equipment.

• Integrated charge pump circuitry
• Eliminates the need for a bipolar ±12V supply
• Enables single supply operation from +5V supply
• Saves power for reduced power requirements
• Output voltage swing is ±7.3V typ, all transmitter outputs loaded with 3kohm to ground
• V+ supply current is 1.8mA typ at VCC=+5V ±10%; V+=+7.5V to +13.2V; TA=TMIN to TMAX
• TTL/CMOS output voltage low is 0.4V max at IOUT=3.2mA
• 14 plastic DIP package
• 0°C to +70°C temperature range
